Our Wood Fibre

Australian thermo mechanically refined wood fibre made from PEFC certified hard and soft wood chip reclaimed from local mills

Australian Made

Australian made wood fibre

We call it 'our wood fibre' because we're proud of its origin; it's made right here in Australia. AWF manufactures thermo mechanically refined wood fibre for the professional market, be it horticulture, erosion control, revegetation or animal bedding industries.

Our fibre is dried, compressed and packaged in convenient sized bales, making it easy to store, transport and handle.

Why thermo mechanical refinement?

Thermo mechanical refinement of virgin wood chip produces a naturally durable, high performing and bio-secure product. Our manufacturing process refines the wood into long and short fibres under extreme temperature delivering an end product that can absorb more than 11 times its own weight in water and is free from seeds and pathogens. The phyto-sanitisation of our fibre not only makes it ideal for export but also for use in horticulture and revegetation applications.

Thermo mechanically refined wood fibre has excellent water holding capacity which provides optimal conditions for the propagation of seeds. It contributes carbon for the soil, moisture for germinating seeds and porosity for developing roots.  In a nut shell,

it's naturally good for growth.

We only use sustainable raw materials
